Our promise
How we run drills on someone we've never met — carefully.
Sending a practice scam to someone's mother is a serious thing to do. Here is exactly how we handle that responsibility.
1. Consent, personally and always.
No senior is ever enrolled without their own knowing agreement (or their legally designated decision-maker's, where appropriate). They know drills will come; they just don't know when — that's what makes practice honest. Enrollment can be withdrawn any time, instantly.
2. Gentle by design.
Drills never involve real money, real risk, or real consequences. Coaching moments are brief, warm, and private. No scores are shared beyond the family members your parent approved. We never use fear, shame, or “gotcha” language — the research is clear that it backfires, and it's also just not who we are.
3. Right-fit enrollment.
Spry is designed for cognitively healthy adults who manage their own email and phone. It is not appropriate for people with significant cognitive impairment, and our enrollment process screens for fit. If a report-card trend suggests changing needs, we tell the family privately and help them decide what's next.
4. Channels earn their way in.
We start with email. Text and voice drills are added only with prior express written consent, per federal telemarketing law (TCPA) — a bar we treat as a floor, not a ceiling.
5. Data minimalism.
We collect only what drills require (name, contact channels, drill history). We never access bank accounts, credit reports, or financial data. We never sell personal data. Ever.
6. Debrief, always.
Every missed drill ends in the same place: a clear “this was a safe practice from Spry” message and a specific, usable lesson. Nobody is ever left wondering whether it was real.
